Not Another Red Light casts a bright acoustic shine

At 16 minutes worth of singer-songwriter music, Not Another Red Light is a quick and pleasant listen which showcases some immense talent. There are five songs in the record, each standing out with a unique melody and poignant lyrical content.

The production is crisp and punchy, making the songs come across clearly and confidently. It’s a wonderful thing to listen to a competent musician who’s put in quality work and excels at his craft.

Throughout the EP, the tempo remains steady, and the acoustic guitar is a constant presence, subtly fortified by electric lines and carefully thought-out percussion. Overall, Not Another Light Light is a highly polished, expertly realised record and we hope the people behind it will carry on crafting awesome songs.

In the future, we’d like to hear the production expanded with more layers, like synthesizers, strings, or experimental electric guitar. There’s ample opportunity to enrich the sonics with additional content which will serve the songs very well, endowing them with more depth and atmosphere. Thumbs up!

Horns Up: Expertly crafted songs with crisp, polished production.

Horns Down: A little bit of missed opportunity to add more layers to the production, making the songs more intricate.
