Music is the best thing ever! – Interview with George Avetikyan

George Avetikyan is a composer and instrumentalist from East Lansing, United States. He started to play the violin when he was 9 and have been playing the piano for the last 5 years! He believes music is the best type of therapy and musicians can help the world stay sane! Music style does not matter, as long as it makes you happy. Back in 2008 George had a brain injury in a car accident, but instead of taking the victim role, he chose to focus on creating music and this has been the best thing ever for him. He finds fun in music and doesn’t plan to ever stop, because he simply loves what he is doing! We managed to catch George for a short interview:

Tell the world about yourself. How did you grow up to become the musician you are today?

I started to play the violin when I was 9 and even though I never practiced much (which kept me in the 2nd violin section) I always had fun playing in class which is what made me want to be a musician!

Introduce your current musical projects and tell us what makes it special for you!

I’m currently working on my 7th album which will come out in a few years because I’ve already set up albums that come out later this year and next year! I called it “Amazing Women” because (in my opinion) women are way smarter then any man, and mom’s are total genius’!! Sorry guys…

How do you find the drive and inspiration to keep playing music?

I just love music and I just wanted to be a part of what I love!!! Being a composer is the best thing ever!!

What are your favorite software and hardware tools for music production? What is your songwriting process like?

I use mainly Finale. I just write whatever to start and work on adding as I see fit.

What is your all-time favorite record and how did it change you as an artist?

My all-time favorite record is “Turbo” by Judas Priest and that made me start just writing fast and upbeat music. And people like Lindsey Stirling that got me to start composing.
