World Wide Music Day 2016

Musicians Without Borders

Music people everywhere – unite!

This year, our friends from Musicians without Borders are launching their annual initiative for World Wide Music Day for the third time. The date is June 21st.

Musicians, bands, choirs and ensembles from all over the world are going to participate by organizing charity concerts and events in their local communities. The goal is to raise awareness and support for children, young people and adults living in divided cities, refugee camps, poverty or exile because of war and conflict.

Here’s where you come in. Near, far, where(eeee)ver you are, you can become part of this community of awesome people by joining and organizing your own World Wide Music Day event or concert.

Musicians Without Borders

“War Divides. Music Connects.” Well said!

As a participating musician, you’ll be featured on the Musicians without Borders website.

You’ll also gain access to Musicians Connect, their online community of musicians dedicated to social change through the power of music.

Write a song for the occasion, post stuff online, tell other bands and musicians, invite your friends and supporters – anything counts.

Learn more about WWMD and register your event here. Musicians without Borders uses the power of music to bridge divides, connect communities, and heal the wounds of war. Their long-term commitment allows participants the time to develop skills and talents, process grief and loss, and build bridges of reconciliation in societies divided by recent or ongoing conflict. Their professional trainers are specialized in running community music projects with people dealing with trauma, fear and isolation, as a result of war and conflict.

Let's bring the smiles back :)

Of course, we proudly support the initiative. As Jimi Hendrix put it, “If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music”.
