Gideon Doolaard’s Brainwash Shampoo may make your hair fall off

Gideon Doolaard makes very happy, slightly psychotic music that’s even further out there than what Brainwash Shampoo – the name of the man’s second record – suggests. There are 5 songs finished and released while Gideon plans to add 10 more to complete his album. If you happen to miss Frank Zappa’s more mental episodes and enjoy acoustically-driven songs with layered vocals coming in from every direction, you are going to have a jolly good time with Gideon’s tunes.

Otherwise, the sheer intensity spawned by his manic vocal experimentation and blissfully lunatic lyricism might prove too challenging for your overly reasonable musical palate. Gideon’s music cannot possibly leave you indifferent. Safe music should be played where it belongs – at elevators and massage parlors. We want polarizing expression that makes for confused stares and plenty of questioning with somewhat lacking reasoning. Love it or hate it, Brainwash Shampoo is out there and takes no prisoners. Our ears are owned!
