Classical training meets futuristic sound in NonSequitir by Ellipsis Ganym

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Ellipsis Ganym comes from classical music training as a singer. After numerous collaborations with other artists, ‘NonSequitir’ is the first solo EP he’s showing to the world. The record is emotional and personal. You will have hard times pinpointing it to a certain genre frame and we always love music that’s hard to describe but extremely enjoyable to listen.

In the self-produced EP ‘NonSequitir’ Ellipsis Ganym has incorporated influences and inspirations from a large variety of genres. The tight and determined beats feel like hip-hop and trip-hop, the bass lines and synth melodies scream electronic dance music and the vocals are soulful and intimate. Tracks like ‘Mourning World’ and the jazz-inspired ‘Nene’ are fully instrumental and showcase Ganym’s talents as a contemporary songwriter. ‘Daughtershine’ on the other hand features vocals but is present in whole two reincarnations – one that feels more cinematic and warmer, while the other one explores a more electronic IDM sound.

In general, ‘NonSequitir’ exhibits the great potential of Ellipsis Ganym as a composer and not only a singer. The EP is a great manifestation of his skill but even if at times it feels more like a portfolio than a collection of music that is united by a common concept. However, one thing is certain – we are definitely eager to hear more from him in the future.
